According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea have kept three strikers on their shortlist to replace Olivier Giroud. The veteran striker is close to leaving for AC Milan. The Blues have lined up Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane as a replacement.
Chelsea’s attack could see some shuffling over the transfer window. The Blues encountered several problems with the names they had leading the line. However, that is not the only reason. Olivier Giroud is close to leaving for AC Milan leaving Timo Werner as the only option upfront. Tammy Abraham is there but he is also expected to leave the club. (h/t Express)
Due to that, the Blues have kept their eye on three potential additions for the striker’s position. The first name is that of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian hardly needs an introduction at this stage after his exploits with Borussia Dortmund over the last season.
Next up is a name Chelsea know all too well. Romelu Lukaku, a former Chelsea striker, is coming off one of his best-ever seasons with Inter Milan. Lastly, someone a bit closer to home, Harry Kane. The Spurs talisman could be on the move over the summer. (h/t Express)
It is imperative that Chelsea get one of those three names. The side has struggled in the absence of a clinical striker. All three are world-class names that can crack open defences easily and get those goals. With Giroud departing, Chelsea have to get someone to replace him.
