Real Madrid make Eden Hazard decision amid Chelsea return rumours
According to Spanish publication Defensa Central (h/t Express), Real Madrid have decided not to sell superstar Eden Hazard amid links to a return to Chelsea.
Hazard is a club icon at Chelsea. Having arrived in 2012, the Belgian wing-wizard spent seven years on the club’s books, tasting huge success during the period. Two UEFA Europa League titles, two Premier League titles and a number of other honours, personal and team, have helped ensure that he will go down as a legend at the Bridge.
Hazard secured a dream transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 after winning his second Europa League title with the Blues. But, it has been a torrid two-year spell for the 30-year-old in the Spanish capital club as fitness and injury troubles have bogged him down a great deal.
Indeed, Hazard has played fewer games than he has missed for Real Madrid. And when he has been on the pitch, the winger has looked a pale shadow of his brilliant best from the Chelsea days.
With Real Madrid mired in financial troubles, an exit for Hazard was touted with a potential return to Chelsea also being spoken about. However, that has been ruled out now as Real Madrid have decided to hold on to the Belgian wing-wizard and give him another year to prove himself in Spain. (h/t Express)

It is disheartening to see how things have panned out for Hazard at Real Madrid. However, despite all the goodwill he has at Chelsea, a return should not be entertained. The Blues are moving forward under Thomas Tuchel and bringing back the 30-year-old may prove to be hazardous. Real Madrid, now, though seem to have taken that decision out of the club’s hands completely.
