Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea ace Christian Pulisic will undergo his AC Milan medical soon.
In an interview with the Evening Standard, Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has claimed that the club can go on do win the domestic double this season after European success last time out.
Chelsea ended the 2020/21 campaign on the highest of highs as Thomas Tuchel masterminded the club’s second-ever UEFA Champions League triumph, beating Premier League champions Manchester City in an all-English final.
It was a euphoric moment for fans after a brief lull midway through the season under ex-boss Frank Lampard. Speaking of the huge success in Europe, Pulisic admitted that the moment hadn’t quite sunk in yet, but the focus was already on the coming season.
“I don’t know if it’s totally sunk in yet, it was such an incredible achievement. It’s starting to hit us — it gives us a lot of confidence.”
And, the USMNT international is confident that the team can build on that success and go on to do the domestic double by winning the Premier League and the FA Cup this season.
“To be the champions of Europe, it wasn’t an easy journey. We’ve seen now that we can compete with those top teams, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t feel that way. They [City] were one of the best teams last season and to beat them a few times gives us confidence. We have such a strong squad, so I would say anything’s possible.”
One can see that Tuchel has this team brimming with confidence. Things went very well in the short time that the German was in charge of the club. With a full preseason with the players, it could only mean more positive outcomes for Chelsea. Exciting times are ahead for the fans.
