Chelsea interested in Boubacar Kamara as Declan Rice alternative
According to Football.london, Chelsea have been put on high alert as Olympique Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara could be available for just €15m this summer.
Chelsea have been eyeing a move for England international midfielder Declan Rice for a while now. However, West Ham United’s £80m valuation of the 22-year-old is proving to be a problem for the Blues. To that end, they have been eyeing alternatives to the former Blues’ academy man, with Eduardo Camavinga as well as Kamara emerging as options. (h/t Football.london)
And now, the Blues have been put on high alert over Kamara’s potential availability for a cut-price fee this summer. Marseille are going through financial difficulties and have identified the 21-year-old as their top saleable asset in order to bring some cash into the club.
To that end, the Ligue 1 side have offered him to multiple clubs but no offer has been forthcoming. As a result, Marseille may be forced to sell Kamara for as little as €15m plus add-ons, alerting Chelsea over a potential swoop this summer.
Like Rice, Kamara, too, started out as a centre-back before carving out a reputation for himself as a destroyer in the middle of the park. Known for breaking up attacks adeptly, the 21-year-old also backs it up with quality on the ball, making him a solid, all-round package.
The Mirror reports that Liverpool and Manchester City have tracked the Frenchman while Newcastle United are also working on an opening offer for the Frenchman.

It now remains to be seen if Chelsea are ready to act on their reported interest in Kamara or stick with their pursuit of Rice despite the potential costs involved.
