With the new season fast approaching, Chelsea released their away kit for the 2021/22 campaign and safe to say, it’s striking.
Throughout the club’s history, yellow kits have been part of the tapestry and the Blues have reintroduced it this season, with a renewed vibrance. A bright yellow shirt, with black horizontal pinstripes, is a nod to the past while also representing the new youthful era, as per the club’s statement.
The kit is complete with black shorts, along with yellow socks which has a black stripe while the neckline comes with hidden accents as well.
Furthermore, the kits have been constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, that is made from recycled plastic bottles, in a bid to reduce the impact on the environment, the club statement confirms.
Mason Mount, one of the new faces of the club, is certainly impressed by the design.
“When you look over the years, you always remember the yellow kits on our heroes that made an impact. As players I feel we can do the same and create even more special moments in this new kit!”
Chelsea fans took to Twitter to react to the new away kit. While there were some split opinions on the design, the supporters seemed to be in unison over the thought that the kit was made yellow to attract one particular player to the club…
