Chelsea fans react as Billy Gilmour joins Norwich on loan

It is official now that Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour has joined Norwich on loan for next season. The young Scottish midfielder will be spending a season at Carrow Road for the newly promoted Canaries.

The Scottish midfielder found game time tough to come by under Thomas Tuchel ever since his appointment. He was afforded only three Premier League games over the recently concluded season. With the likes of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic playing week in week out, Gilmour had to play the role of a deputy.

While Gilmour disappointingly had to drop out of the last game due to COVID, his sole display against England reminded everyone of the talent he has. Now, he can do exactly that on a weekly basis in the Premier League with Norwich.

The Canaries returned to the Premier League after a year and have now signed one of the brightest young players at Chelsea. Daniel Farke, the Norwich manager, has a working relationship with Tuchel since their Dortmund days. Hence Tuchel knows the player will be in safe hands.

While some were happy, others felt Chelsea were making a mistake. Here is how the Chelsea fans reacted to learning that Billy Gilmour is heading to Norwich.
