Transfer News: Arsenal want Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham
According to The Telegraph (h/t Daily Star), Arsenal are keen on signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attack.
The Englishman is also on the radar of two other Premier League clubs in West Ham United and Aston Villa. Abraham has, of course, spent some time on loan at Villa Park in the past.
But any move would not come cheap for Chelsea’s London rivals. The Blues are seeking a fee in the region of £40million for their 23-year-old centre-forward.
Abraham’s services were deemed surplus to requirement towards the end of last season by Thomas Tuchel. The German manager left him out of the matchday squads for both the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League final.
Abraham to Arsenal?
It came as a shock to many fans considering Abraham was Chelsea’s joint top-scorer last season with 12 goals. But it was clear that Timo Werner was the main man up front for the former PSG boss.
Abraham has come through the youth academy at Chelsea and was loaned out thrice before he established himself as a first-team player under Frank Lampard.
Before his loan spell to the Villans in the 2018/19 season, he played for Swansea as well as Bristol City. But it seems that his race is run under Tuchel and he could be sold in this transfer window.

A move to the Blues’ rivals up north would be a controversial one, but it won’t be the first time a Chelsea player has taken that path. Willian, David Luiz, and Petr Cech are the most recent examples of players leaving Stamford Bridge to join the Gunners.
