According to transfer news from Mirror, Chelsea outcast Ross Barkley is said to be the subject of interest from West Ham. The midfielder is set to return from a loan spell at Aston Villa but is likely to be moved on again.
Barkley signed for the Villans on a season-long loan deal last summer following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz. The England international made a blazing start to life at Villa Park, forming a dangerous tandem with Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins.
However, a hamstring injury he sustained in November led to a significant spell on the sidelines, post which Barkley has struggled to hit the heights of the early periods of the season. Aston Villa have ruled out a permanent move for the player.
That means Barkley is set to return to Chelsea at the end of June. Nonetheless, West Ham could offer him a way out. With the player available now, West Ham are considering a move for him. However, any move for Barkley will be dependent on the future of Declan Rice.
It looks very unlikely that Barkley will break into the side under Tuchel. There are already more than enough attacking players on the side. A loan deal or a permanent transfer away could do a world of good to both Chelsea and Barkley.
