According to transfer news from Daily Star, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Santos starlet Kaio Jorge. The Brazilian has been compared to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. after lighting it up in the domestic scene.
One of the brightest prospects from South America, Jorge put in eye-catching displays for his national side Brazil in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Jorge scored five goals in the competition, including one in the final against Mexico. He was awarded the Bronze Boot as Brazil emerged eventual champions. To date, he has played 10 matches for the U-17 side and has 6 goals and 2 assists. It speaks volumes about his talent.
His impressive goal-scoring form in front of the goal for Brazil, saw the youngster being offered three games in the top-flight league in 2019. Jorge was also included in Santos’ two games in the 2020 Copa Libertadores tournament, where he racked up one goal.
However, the 19-year-old has already racked up 66 appearances for the Brazilian side so far, scoring 13 goals. Now, it has been reported that Chelsea are keeping tabs on the player and how he is developing at Santos.
It is no surprise to see Chelsea being linked with Jorge. The Blues have always been after the best young talents in the game and Jorge is no different. A classic Brazilian centre-forward, Jorge can be one to watch for and Chelsea should try to make their interest concrete.
