Chelsea News: Steve Clarke provides encouraging update on Billy Gilmour injury
According to news from Daily Record, Chelsea and Scotland starlet Billy Gilmour was taken off against Luxembourg as a precaution. Manager Steve Clarke eased any fears regarding an injury after a nasty challenge on Gilmour by Olivier Thill.
All the European sides are getting ready for the Euros with warm-up games. Scotland are done with their two friendlies against Netherlands and Luxembourg. They drew the one against the Netherlands and won against Luxembourg.
Che Adams’ goal was enough to hand Scotland the win as they are now all set to start the Euros on the 14th. However, there was a huge injury scare for Scotland starlet Billy Gilmour. A rather rash challenge from Olivier Thill took out the Chelsea man and he had to be replaced in the 76th min by James Forrest.
Gilmour was taken off as a precaution
Given the nature of the tackle and subsequent substitution, it was worrying. Nonetheless, manager Steve Clarke assured after the game that there was nothing serious with the injury.
“He was disappointed to be off but (we’ll be) ultra-cautious and the medics will assess him. But everything looks OK for now.”
