According to Metro, Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has dropped a hint about his future at the club. The Italian, whose future has been the subject of speculation, has put all that to rest. He wants to remain at Chelsea to have more special moments like the Champions League win.
The 29-year-old moved to Chelsea in 2018 from Napoli, along with manager Maurizio Sarri. Jorginho struggled in his first season as he looked a bit slow for the fast-paced nature of the Premier League. His form improved last season and he was one of Frank Lampard’s most trusted players.
This season, however, despite starting strongly, he did go off the radar a bit. Under Thomas Tuchel, he made a strong start. He is often deployed as one of the two central midfielders in Tuchel’s set-up on a rotational basis.
In recent weeks, Jorginho’s future has come under speculation. A return to Serie A has been talked about as well as a swap deal to Barcelona. Nonetheless, he has put all that to rest with his latest comments.
‘Another year together! This group is family, is team, is home! We achieved something big and living it with all of you guys made it even more special! Thanks guys see you very soon for many other special moments together.’
This does bode well given how important Jorginho has become under Thomas Tuchel. He dictates the play well from the middle and controls the game. With the player clearing the situation, the speculation could be put to rest now.
