England still pushing for Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount for the Germany game
According to Metro, England are trying their best to make Chelsea duo Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount available for the Germany game. The Three Lions take on Germany in the round of 16 of the Euros topping their group.
The group stages of the Euros are over and now the serious business starts. There are a host of mouth-watering ties and one of them is England taking on Germany. The latter barely made it through after a last-ditch draw against Hungary.
England would be a bit worried given the form they have shown over the three group games. Another headache for them would be the availability of Chelsea duo Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount. After Billy Gilmour tested positive for COVID, the English pair was also asked to isolate for 10 days as a precaution.
Hence, they did not feature in the final game. However, with the important game against Germany on Tuesday, England are trying to use a Premier League rule where they can participate in training in small groups. They are looking to keep the duo as much involved as possible to make sure they are available for the game.

However, it might well be the case that the Chelsea duo may not be allowed to be involved in the tie. Southgate has enough options in the side but having an in-form player like Mount would be a huge bonus. These things cannot be pushed though, as they are a matter of health and safety.
