Peter Crouch wants Chelsea to re-sign Romelu Lukaku
According to Metro, Peter Crouch has urged Chelsea to re-sign their former striker Romelu Lukaku. The striker started off with a bang at the Euros, scoring twice against Russia. Crouch, a former England and Premier League forward, feels that Chelsea would benefit a lot from getting back their former man.
A former Chelsea player, Lukaku spent three years at the club. He spent the second and third years of his Stamford Bridge career out on loan before leaving permanently for Everton in 2014. Nonetheless, he has managed to lift up his career to greater heights with his stint at Inter Milan.
Initially, Chelsea wanted to re-sign their former striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is coming off the back of a splendid season at Inter, pushing Inter to the title. However, his comments in wanting to stay back at Inter Milan cooled down a possible move.

Nonetheless, the Belgian carried his form into the Euros as well, scoring twice in Belgium’s thrashing of Russia. Former England forward Peter Crouch feels that an in-form Lukaku can be a huge asset for Chelsea (h/t Metro).
‘A striker who has started the Euro 2020 well is Romelu Lukaku, who would be a great option for Chelsea this summer. He’s relentless, his goal record is phenomenal, and he’d be a good fit in well with their pacey front line. He’s a different player than when he left Chelsea and Manchester United.
He’s at a higher level now – in the conversation for one of the world’s top strikers. Watching Lukaku play this year, he’s been consistently dominant, it’s unbelievable, he has everything you need as a top forward. He can lead the line on his own, has pace and strength, and his touch and awareness have improved.’

Chelsea need a new striker and they will be making a mistake by not signing one ahead of the new season. Their defence has often bailed them out this season and Tuchel will be wary of that. Whether or not that is Lukaku, it will be one to watch.
