Transfer News: Christian Pulisic could exit Chelsea

According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea star Christian Pulisic could be looking at a summer exit from the club. The USA international is seemingly frustrated with Thomas Tuchel after his sporadic appearances and being played out of position.

Christian Pulisic joined the club amid much fan-fare in 2019 but it was not until the latter stages that he started performing. This season too, Pulisic has blown hot and cold but slowly got into the rhythm as the business end approached.

Pulisic is not happy with his role at Chelsea

Despite playing a starring role against Real Madrid in the semi-final, he was benched for the all-important final in the Champions League. Pulisic has not been a regular under Tuchel. A lot of his appearances have come off the bench, which has dwindled his output in front of goal.

Another reason for which he is disgruntled is the fact that he has often been forced to play out of position in Tuchel’s setup. Without out-and-out wingers, Pulisic has had to slot in as a wing-back at times. With the World Cup in a year’s time, the American will be looking to get regular game time. He could be looking at an exit due to the above-mentioned reasons.

The manager and the player have endured an uneasy relationship at Chelsea, with Tuchel not providing regular starts for the American. Tuchel will eventually have to figure out something as he is too good to be whiling away his time on the bench. An interesting summer awaits the USA international.
