Chelsea undecided over the future of defensive star as clubs refuse to meet £17m valuation

Transfer News: Chelsea considering Emerson Palmieri situation

According to transfer news from Mirror, Chelsea are still pondering on what to do with Emerson Palmieri. Inter Milan and Napoli are the clubs set to be after him but the former are refusing to meet Chelsea’s £17m valuation of the Italian.

Emerson has struggled massively to get any sort of game time this season. He has played a staggeringly low number of minutes, with most of them coming in cup competitions. Ben Chilwell has pretty much been Chelsea’s first-choice left-back/wingback.

Chilwell and Marcos Alonso have pretty much shared the duties at left-back. Emerson has only been used in a handful of games through the season. His long spells on the bench meant that he barely scraped through to the Italian side for the Euros.

Inter ready to bide their time with Emerson

Inter Milan were interested in signing the full-back. However, Chelsea slapped a £17m price tag on him which Inter are refusing to meet. The Serie A champions are playing the waiting game as Emerson’s Chelsea deal runs out in a year. They are expected to move for him after the Euros. Napoli are said to be behind Inter in this chase.

More Chelsea News:

Emerson has just one year left on his current deal. This transfer window represents the only chance for Chelsea to make any money off the deal. Clearly, he is not a part of the first-team plans and we should allow him to leave.
