Transfer News: Leicester City join Liverpool and Chelsea in Patson Daka tussle

According to The Mirror, Leicester City have joined Chelsea and Liverpool in the transfer race for highly-rated RB Salzburg striker, Patson Daka.

The Zambian frontman is in form and his exploits in Australia has attracted the interest of several clubs. Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in him, but can now expect competition from the Foxes for his services.

Daka has 34 goals in 42 games in all competitions this season for Salzburg. The 22-year-old is also said to be available for as little as £17m in the summer transfer window.

The report goes on to mention that Leicester could offer Daka a better chance at first-team football as compared to others. As for the Blues, this news would come as a blow.

Chelsea face Patson Daka competition

Timo Werner is clearly the main main under Thomas Tuchel. Despite his underwhelming form in front of goal this season, it seems that the German would be hard to displace from the starting XI.

However, Chelsea could still need cover in that department with both Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham linked with potential Stamford Bridge exits in the summer. (h/t Daily Mail)

This is a deal Tuchel should be all over considering the price tag and competition for him. It is clear that he has attracted the interest of several top clubs.

And if the Blues snap him and his transfer valuation increases in the future, akin to his predecessor Erling Braut Haaland, then this could prove to be a very smart move from Chelsea.

But with a number of clubs interested in Daka, it remains to be seen if the Blues would considering entering a transfer tussle for the Zambian.
