According to transfer news from Sempre Inter, Inter Milan want out of favour Chelsea star Marcos Alonso. The Spaniard is said to be the first choice for the Italian side ahead of Emerson Palmieri. They want the former Fiorentina man regardless of Achraf Hakimi’s transfer to PSG or Chelsea.
Alonso was among some of the names who had been frozen out of the squad under Frank Lampard. Before Thomas Tuchel took over, Alonso had not played since the West Brom game much early in the season. They had fallen out and Lampard did not call upon his services since.
However, right in Thomas Tuchel’s first game, Alonso was restored not only to the starting XI but also to the wing-back role he flourishes in. Since then, he has featured for the side but not on a consistent basis due to Ben Chilwell’s adjustment to the new role.
Now, Alonso is claimed to be the top transfer target for Inter Milan and new manager Simone Inzaghi. Inter are said to admire the player and see him as the best fit for the left side of the defence. Alonso is said to be ahead of Emerson in terms of Inter wanting the pair. The Italian champions will go after Alonso regardless of Hakimi’s next destination.
Alonso enjoyed two initial fruitful years at Chelsea after which he has largely been on the periphery. With Chilwell flourishing at the club, there is a good chance that Alonso continues to struggle for game time. A possible deal might just benefit all the parties involved.
