Chelsea target Declan Rice speaks about his situation without mate Mason Mount
According to the Independent, Chelsea target, Declan Rice has been down ever since his mate Mason Mount has been in isolation. Mount and Rice, who are currently away on international duty with England at the Euro 2020, are close friends. But the former has had to isolate over the last week after coming in contact with Billy Gilmour who tested positive for COVID.
Chelsea know Declan Rice from his academy days. However, he chose to leave for West Ham in order to continue his development. During his spell with the Hammers, he has quietly gone about establishing himself as one of the most reliable defensive midfielders in the league and for England as well.
Nonetheless, the Chelsea target is still best mates with Mason Mount as they often get to link up for international duty. The pair are often seen sharing a laugh when they are together. However, Mount has had to stay isolated after the aforementioned incident, meaning that the pair have not been in contact.
Rice spoke about how down he was feeling in Mount’s absence and also provided some encouraging updates.
“I’ve been a lost soul. A few of the lads have come up to me and said I look lost and we’ve had a bit of banter. He’s been all right, hopefully, he is out in the next couple of days. I spoke to him yesterday and he tested negative again, so I am hoping he can be back with the group soon.
“He has just been on Netflix watching things. We have had little chats on FaceTime and things, he has been positive and been keeping himself fit in the room. Hopefully, we can have him out soon with a negative test and that will be a massive boost.”

Mount is close to completing the 10-day isolation period required. However, he will still have to test negative before he can return to the group. England will be hoping they can have the Chelsea ace back in time for their last-16 encounter with Germany.
