As per a report by Goal (h/t Express), Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, is now a ‘primary transfer target’ for Chelsea in the summer window as he continues to be linked to Manchester City.
Kane was in sumptuous form for Tottenham Hotspur this past season – as he has been for the past few years – and went on to win the Premier League Golden Boot as well as the Playmaker Award after scoring 23 times and assisting 14 goals.
And the report now mentions that like Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund, Kane is high up the transfer shortlist at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.
However, a deal to bring Kane to Chelsea could be difficult. Spurs’ chief Daniel Levy would be reluctant to sell the 27-year-old and Kane’s wages could also be a potential hurdle. (h/t Express)
Chelsea would want to add some solidity to their frontline as they begin their title charge next season. The Blues won the UEFA Champions League and had a strong finish to their league campaign under Thomas Tuchel.
But one thing that stuck out like a thorn in a rose was the inability of Chelsea strikers to rack up goals in the Premier League. Defensive midfielder, Jorginho, ended up being the club’s top scorer in the league with 7 pentalties.
Furthermore, Tammy Abraham could be off to West Ham United while Olivier Giroud could seal a move to Serie A this summer. Moreover, Werner can also be used as a winger at the Bridge next season. (h/t Express)
Amid this, it seems almost necessary for the Blues to get in a potent goal-scorer. Both Haaland and Kane are two of the best in the business, but it remains to be seen if Chelsea can outmuscle other suitors for either one of them and cough up the money needed for any potential deal this summer.
