Chelsea keeping tabs on Italian starlet shining in the Euros

Transfer News: Chelsea keeping tabs on Manuel Locatelli

According to transfer news from Football.london, Chelsea have kept a keen eye on Italy star Manuel Locatelli. The Blues are not the only club to have taken an interest in the Sassuolo star with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal also after him.

If the opening week of the Euros were anything to go by, fans have found a new star in Manuel Locatelli. The Italian has been dominant in both the wins over Turkey and Switzerland, scoring twice against the latter. The second goal was perhaps one to keep watching on repeat.

However, one should not be surprised as the 23-year-old showed glimpses of his potential over the last season in Serie A. Playing in a box-to-box role, Locatelli has been one of the standout players for the Azzurri.

Chelsea have a bit of a problem with Jorginho currently. His agent has spoken about interest in the player and he could be looking at his future after the Euros. That being said, Chelsea have been linked with his national teammate, Locatelli.

Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Chelsea along with Man City have scouted the Sassuolo starlet.

“Many clubs are asking for Locatelli. From Spain, from Germany, from England. Manchester City have been scouting him for a long time and Chelsea too.”

More Chelsea News:

Locatelli will only see his stock rise over the next few weeks. He is a dynamic midfielder who has a penchant for scoring the occasional worldie. Regardless of Jorginho’s future, the Blues should try to get Locatelli. He has a bright future ahead of him and Chelsea would want it to be at Stamford Bridge.
