Chelsea fans react as Kai Havertz stars for Germany vs Portugal

Chelsea star Kai Havertz played a critical role as Germany beat Portugal 4-2 in their second Group F game of the UEFA Euro 2020 on Saturday.

Having lost the first game against France, Die Mannschaft had their task cut out and needed a win to stay alive in the tournament. But Joachim Low’s men rose to the occasion on the night, with Havertz leading from the front, as he was involved in all four goals for Germany.

After Portugal had taken the lead through Cristiano Ronaldo, Havertz put Ruben Dias under pressure leading to an own goal for the equaliser. The Chelsea star was once again involved as Raphael Guerreiro then turned the ball into his own net.

Six minutes into the second half, Havertz found the back of the net to put Germany comfortably in front before Robin Gosens made it 4-1 at the hour mark, with the Chelsea star getting the pre-assist for the goal. Diogo Jota did pull one back for Portugal, but the Germans held on for a much-needed win that throws open the Group F or the Group of Death.

Chelsea fans were ecstatic to see Havertz make such a valuable contribution to the proceedings. And here are some of the reactions from the supporters after the win.
