According to Express, Thomas Tuchel has warned his Chelsea side about Sergio Ramos ahead of the big game vs Real Madrid. The Madrid captain is set to return from injury and is in line to make an appearance against Chelsea.
Chelsea have impressed in the Champions League this season despite their not so impressive showings in England. They have defeated the like of Atletico Madrid and Porto in the knockout stages before drawing the first leg against Real Madrid.
The Blues were by far the better team in the first leg with multiple chances to score. However, some questionable finishing from the likes of Timo Werner ensured that only Christian Pulisic got his goal. Real were playing without their talismanic captain in the last couple of weeks but he will likely return to the fold.
Thomas Tuchel was asked about Ramos’ return and he warned his players to not indulge in the mind games of the Madrid skipper.
“Does Ramos play or not? This is a tough question because I don’t know if he’s fit or not. We’ll see after training and when they give the line-up. Does it change for Real Madrid? Yes, it changes them a lot. He’s the captain of the most successful team in Europe in recent years. It changes a lot but we cannot lose our heads about this decision. I think that he will start, we will prepare for that and we have to make sure he can’t do it alone.”
While Ramos is back, Real will be without Raphael Varane, who sustained an injury against Osasuna at the weekend. Even Dani Carvajal is ruled out of the game. A strong line-up can still be expected to walk out at Stamford Bridge.
