According to transfer news from Express, Maxence Lacroix has opened up on the links to Chelsea. The Blues were among some of the names that he spoke about when asked about the interest in him from various clubs.
Chelsea are somewhat trying to assess their defensive options for next season. On the whole, the unit has looked well settled and solid. In the three-man defence, mostly the likes of Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta have been used.
Others like Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma have also been used as and when required. While all these players have done well for Tuchel, he wants to bring in a new central defender in the summer to revamp the squad.
Maxence Lacroix of Wolfsburg has attracted the attention of Chelsea with his performances. He has been rated at £26m by Wolfsburg even though they are not keen on a sale. With links to clubs like Chelsea, Lacroix has spoken out.
“I see [the rumours], but I refer those matters to my advisor because I want to concentrate on my work here at Wolfsburg and want to do a good job here. I’m with VfL and qualified for the Champions League with the club. I’m very happy here. “I still have a three-year contract here and am very satisfied. Sure, things can always happen quickly in football, but again: I feel very comfortable at VfL and there is absolutely no reason to think about other things.”
Lacroix also mentioned the name of Chelsea among the clubs he knew were interested in him. While he may have said that he is happy at Wolfsburg, he has not ruled out a move away. Lacroix has impressed in the last few seasons and can be a handy signing for us.
