Eden Hazard dismisses the possibility of returning to Chelsea in the summer.

Transfer News: Chelsea won’t prioritize a return for Eden Hazard

According to transfer news from Metro, Chelsea are unlikely to prioritize on bringing back Eden Hazard. Reports have been doing the rounds that the Real Madrid star wants to leave the club and his preference would be to return to Stamford Bridge.

Hazard lit up Stamford Bridge during his 7-year stay at the club since he joined from Lille in 2012. And he got his dream move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 for an eye-watering £89m. But that has not worked out for him so far. The Belgian winger was troubled by a serious ankle injury in his first season and fitness issues have continued to haunt him this campaign as well.

Real Madrid s winger Eden Hazard C leaves the field after suffering an injury during the UEFA Champions League group A soccer match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain, 26 November 2019.

Hazard wants to return, Chelsea won’t prioritize the same

Injuries have restricted the Belgian to just 21 appearances in all competitions this season. It was earlier reported that the forward wanted to leave the club in the summer. His preferred destination would be a return to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been made aware of those developments. However, it has been claimed that the club will not go head over heels for their former talisman. The Blues are instead looking to bring in a world-class striker to ease their goalscoring issues.

It is undeniable that Chelsea fans would be stoked to have one of their legends back at the Bridge. Hazard proved his pedigree in England and was one of the best players in the world during his peak.

However, the fact that Hazard has not been in the same form for close to two seasons now should be enough reason for Chelsea to think twice before going after him. The tricky winger may still possess what he had and a return could help. Logically, the risks are too big compared to the rewards.
