Transfer News: Chelsea star Olivier Giroud wants 2-year deal at AC Milan

According to transfer news from Mirror, Olivier Giroud is set to demand a lucrative contract from AC Milan once he leaves Chelsea. The veteran Frenchman will ask for a 2-year deal worth €3.5m per season.

The 34-year-old Giroud has been with Chelsea since January 2018 when he sealed a transfer from Arsenal. The veteran forward has been a handy player for the Blues, chipping in with vital goals on a consistent basis. So far this term, Giroud has racked up a tally of 11 goals from 31 matches in all competitions, scoring some important goals.

However, the Frenchman’s future at the club is far from certain as he is in the final few months of his contract. Indeed, Giroud’s current deal with Chelsea runs out at the end of the season, which has led to interest from a host of clubs in Italy, especially AC Milan.

Nonetheless, Giroud has made his demands known to Milan. The World Cup winner wants a two-year deal worth €3.5m per year. While those are not very huge demands, one needs to remember Giroud is already 34 years of age and has not played regularly of late.

More Chelsea News:

Giroud has been a very useful squad player. Even at 34, the Frenchman adds a lot of value to the side but has become a bit-part player in recent months. Letting him move on to AC Milan or some other club after his contract expires is the best option for all.
