According to transfer news from Sunday World, Chelsea have planned three marquee signings for next season. The likes of Jadon Sancho, Romelu Lukaku and Marquinhos have all been lined up as possible targets by the club.
Chelsea went on a transfer spree last season with the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Hakim Ziyech arriving. They also signed the likes of Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr on a free transfer. However, Chelsea had the money in the bank due to the sales of Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard.
Nonetheless, Chelsea are again set to spend similar amounts on three new players next season. They have identified three players to sign – a striker, winger and a central defender. Jadon Sancho has emerged on the wishlist for Chelsea, with the club confident that they can offer a better pay packet to sign him.
While Chelsea would have liked Erling Haaland, they know that he prefers a move to a different club. That has led Chelsea to zero in on Romelu Lukaku. As for defensive reinforcements, Thomas Tuchel has recommended a few names, one of them being Marquinhos (h/t Sunday World).
Unlike most clubs, Chelsea have not felt the full effects of the pandemic as they were the biggest spenders this season. They plan on doing the same this summer in order to help Thomas Tuchel build on his good start at the club.
