Hakim Ziyech reveals Chelsea stars had ‘small party’ after Man City win

According to football.london, Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech has revealed that he and his teammates had a small party in the away dressing room at the Etihad Stadium after beating Manchester City.

Chelsea sealed a crucial 2-1 victory over the Cityzens this past weekend at the Etihad, which has put us in a position of strength in the race for the top four finish. After having gone behind from a Raheem Sterling goal in the first half, Chelsea produced a strong comeback after the break as Hakim Ziyech pulled us back on level terms before Marcos Alonso scored in stoppage time to win it for the Blues.

The result meant that Chelsea moved to the third place in the Premier League standings, above Leicester City. It also meant that Thomas Tuchel & co. have now beaten Manchester City, their opponents in the UEFA Champions League final later this month, twice in a space of one month, having first done so in the FA Cup semi-final.

“I am very happy. We did have a small party in the dressing room, because we wanted third place and we have it now. I am glad that we succeeded. Of course this gives confidence, but in three weeks it will be very different again.”

Ziyech acknowledged that the Chelsea side will take it one game at a time but insisted that the win against City and Real Madrid before that has given them the confidence that they can beat anyone.

“There will be many other matches first. Only as soon as the final comes close, we will focus on that again, but we have shown that we can beat everyone.”
