Chelsea fans can rejoice finally as our very own Frank Lampard has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. The Premier League confirmed the same through their official Twitter handle as he became the fifth player to be given the honour.
Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry were the first two inductees followed by the Manchester United pair of Eric Cantona and Roy Keane. Lampard becomes the first representative from the Blues to be given the honour and no one can argue on the same.
Signed in 2001 from West Ham, the English midfielder went on to become the heartbeat of a Chelsea side that won it all during his 13-year stay at Stamford Bridge. He won the Premier League thrice, FA Cup four times, League Cup twice and the Champions League in 2012.
His stats were also not too shabby either. 211 goals and 150 assists from a staggering 648 games. However, Lampard was not done with Chelsea even after retiring. He returned as the manager in 2019 and performed very well in his first season. Unfortunately, results were not that great this season and he had to be shown the door.
Nonetheless, Lampard still remains a legend at the club and here’s how the fans reacted on Twitter after his HoF induction.
