Chelsea Transfer News: West Ham rule out a move for Tammy Abraham

According to transfer news from Football.london, West Ham have ruled out a move for Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham. West Ham manager, David Moyes wants a striker but refused to sign someone with such a high price tag of £45m. The Blues recently put up that valuation for Abraham.

Tammy Abraham came off the bench in the dying minutes of the Fulham clash and it showed how far the academy graduate had fallen down the pecking order. It has become an all too familiar sight to see the academy graduate on the bench in recent weeks. He has been restricted to these little cameos in the last week or so.

Abraham broke into the first-team last season under Frank Lampard and was a vital part of the side that finished fourth. However, the England international has slipped down the order after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and Timo Werner. The likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have been preferred ahead of the academy graduate.

That led Chelsea to put a £45m valuation on Abraham. West Ham were one of the clubs genuinely interested in signing a striker as they really need one. However, with the fee being quoted by Chelsea, David Moyes has ruled out a move.

“It would rule us out completely. We will be ruled out. So if that’s the figure and that’s what’s being said, we are ruled out. We don’t have that money, we don’t have that to buy a striker at that price, no. It may well be [the total spend]. But you never know here. I don’t think we will be making a purchase of that for any one player. I’d be surprised if we were.”

It is understandable that West Ham don’t want to spend so much on one player. They made the same mistake with Haller, who they eventually sold. Tammy’s future still remains unclear on whether he can fight his way back to the side. Time will tell.
