Chelsea Transfer News: Barcelona planning a Miralem Pjanic-Jorginho swap deal
According to transfer news from Mirror, Barcelona are keen on a swap deal between Miralem Pjanic and Chelsea ace Jorginho. The Spanish club are looking to offload the Bosnian but with finances tight across all clubs, it could see Jorginho head the other way.
Barcelona went after the midfielder last year and they offered Arthur Melo in a swap deal to Juventus. However, a year on, Pjanic hardly looks to have justified the decision of bringing him in. That has led to the club considering a sale for him.
It has been said that Barcelona are looking to bring in a player who can compete with Sergio Busquets. That search has led them towards Jorginho of Chelsea. The Italian has become one of the first names on the team sheet for Chelsea over the last few seasons. The Spanish club want him in a swap deal and are willing to offer Miralem Pjanic given the stringent finances.
While it is unclear as to whether Chelsea would sell him given he has iterated that he is happy at the club. Nonetheless, his contract is set to end in 2023 which means Chelsea still have a little time to ponder on his future.

Swapping Jorginho for Pjanic hardly makes sense for Chelsea given how important the former has become at the club. Miralem Pjanic may be a decent player to have but at 31, he is not worth swapping for Jorginho.
