According to transfer news from SemreMilan, Chelsea are one of the clubs that are still keen on Hakan Calhanoglu. Manchester United are the other Premier League club that has kept tabs on the Turkish playmaker from AC Milan.
The 27-year-old AC Milan star is out of contract at the end of this season and that has fanned speculation about his future. Calhanoglu primarily plays through the middle but likes to drift out wide and create chances. He also has a decent record of scoring goals for the Italian giants.
He is keen on staying and it will likely be hard to prise him away from the club given how impactful of a player he is. Calhanoglu is currently free to sign a pre-contract with any side with his current deal in the final few months.
It has been reported that there are no new developments in the saga with a new agreement yet to be reached. Calhanoglu has no shortage of suitors from England, with Chelsea among those. Manchester United have also kept themselves in the running for him.
Chelsea have been linked to the playmaker as they want to refresh their options in the attack. The current crop has hardly been able to score without difficulty. The Blues are hoping to take advantage of the same but will face competition from the likes of Manchester United, who are also keen on the midfielder.
