A report by Daily Star (h/t football.london) mentions that Manchester United have made Chelsea transfer target Jadon Sancho their priority signing in the summer window.
But the Blues receive a boost in any possible pursuit of the player after a report by Goal (h/t football.london) mentions that Borussia Dortmund have shaved off £30m from his price tag.
The German side made the winger available for £108m last summer, but no club was willing to match that. However, Sancho could now be available for a £78m fee.
This comes after the former Manchester City winger himself admitted to ESPN (h/t football.london) that he was unsure where his future lies, saying, “I don’t know about my future”.
Chelsea and Manchester United are two clubs that have been linked with the winger ever since he broke into the Dortmund first team. And the Blues have been linked with Sancho as recent as last week.
Sancho is undoubtedly one of the brightest prospects in Europe. The 21-year-old has impressed heavily in Germany and is already one of the best performers in the Bundesliga.
Considering his age, his best is yet to come. Chelsea do not have a shortage of wide players, at least on paper. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, and Hakim Ziyech can all play on the wings.
But Sancho is one signing that could add heaps of talent and depth instantly into the forward line. Not just that, he would also be a signing for the Blues’ future.
It remains to be seen what direction Chelsea’s pursuit of Sancho takes. But if they want him, action should be taken soon considering United’s interest in him is intensifying recently.
