A report by 90min (h/t Daily Star) mentions that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Sheffield United starlet Daniel Jebbison. However, they face competition from a host of other clubs for his signature.
Manchester United and Arsenal are the two other Premier League teams linked with Jebbison, while the Bundesliga duo of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on signing the teenager. (h/t Daily Star)
The 17-year-old made headlines on Sunday after his goal against Everton. That turned out to be the only goal of the game as the already-relegated Blades came away with all three points from Goodison Park.
The Canadian-born Jebbison made his Premier League debut when he came on against Crystal Palace in a 2-0 defeat earlier this month. But the 6ft 3in striker played the full 90 minutes against the Toffees and starred with a brilliant goal.
Speaking after his side’s win, Sheffield United’s interim manager Paul Heckingbottom underlined why he picked Jebbison for the game and highlighted some of his best traits on the football pitch.
“The reason why we picked Daniel is that we know he knows where the goal is… And that’s what he does – he shows that energy and that desire to get into the right positions, which for me is great to see. He brings an energy, hard work and a willingness to run behind and make it difficult for centre-forwards, which is all good and really encouraging.”
The 17-year-old is already very tall for his age and there’s a good chance he grows more. Add to that a knack for finishing goals, and Jebbison could be a brilliant acquisition for the future.
The report mentions that Sheffield United want to tie the England U-18 international to a new deal. But that may not be the easiest task for them considering they have been relegated this season.
