Transfer News: Chelsea close to signing Ilya Zabarnyi
According to transfer news from InsideFutbol, Chelsea are close to completing a deal for Ilya Zabarnyi. The Blues are approaching headfirst into the transfer window and could complete a deal for the highly-rated Dinamo Kyiv defender.
A product of the Dinamo Kyiv academy, Zabarnyi has worked his way through the youth levels over the last few seasons. After a season in the reserves, he was promoted to the first team last year and he has not looked back since.
Over this season, he has made 36 appearances across all competitions. He played in three Champions League qualifying games and also went on to play every minute of the group stage. Even when Dinamo crashed out to the Europa League, he played all of their four games.
Despite the young age, Zabarnyi has already made 6 appearances for the Ukraine national side. It is no surprise that Chelsea are going after the 18-year-old who has been praised by former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko. The Blues are close to finalizing a €12m deal for Zabarnyi.
