Transfer News: Chelsea receive Erling Haaland blow
According to news from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea could well have received a huge blow in their pursuit of Erling Haaland. The striker’s agent Raiola and father Alf-Inge were reported to be in Barcelona for talks with Joan Laporta.
There were further updates by the journalist claiming that the talks were positive. It was the first meeting between both parties and the project at Barcelona was discussed. However, there is still nothing decided in terms of his future.
Raiola will also meet with other clubs to gauge the situation and decide what’s best for his client. Bayern have been ruled out of the race though. The agent also met with Dortmund to decide on the the price given the release clause does not come into effect before 2022.
Chelsea were keen on the player and this does seem like a body blow. Yes, these are just the initial rounds of talks and Raiola will also talk to other clubs, maybe even Chelsea.
