Transfer News: Chelsea not plotting summer move for Jude Bellingham, claims Christian Falk
According to German news outlet BILD’s transfer expert Christian Falk, Chelsea are not interested in making a summer move for Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham.
The 17-year-old is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe currently. Having burst out onto the scenes at Birmingham City last season, where he became a first-team regular just aged 16, the midfielder sealed a high-profile transfer to Dortmund in the summer last year.
Since moving to Germany, Bellingham has absolutely thrived, becoming a permanent fixture in the middle of the park for the Black and Yellows. Till date, the teenage midfielder has featured 41 times across all competitions for Dortmund, scoring three goals and setting up four more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
On the back of his exceptional performances at club level, Bellingham broke into the England national team and has made two appearances for the Three Lions already, at the age of 17.
Following Bellingham’s stunning displays in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Manchester City, reports claimed that Chelsea had made him a transfer target for the upcoming window. IT was said that the Blues were intent on bolstering the midfield unit this summer and saw the Englishman as the ideal target. (h/t Eurosport)
Falk, who is usually reliable with his transfer updates, has quashed those rumours. The German journalist has insisted that Chelsea are not working towards signing Bellingham in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Instead, Falk goes on to add that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to add a new centre-forward to the squad. To that end, the Blues are prioritising a move for either Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund or Inter Milan superstar Romelu Lukaku this summer.
As for Bellingham, it remains to be seen if the club does look at him as a prospective transfer target in the coming weeks.
