According to transfer news from Sport Witness, Chelsea will need to offer more money if they are to sign Hakan Calhanoglu. The AC Milan midfielder is an in-demand player and Chelsea along with Arsenal are said to be after him.
The 27-year-old AC Milan star is out of contract at the end of this season and that has fanned speculation about his future. Calhanoglu primarily plays through the middle but likes to drift out wide and create chances. He also has a decent record of scoring goals for the Italian giants.
He is keen on staying and it will likely be hard to prise him away from the club given how impactful of a player he is. Calhanoglu is currently free to sign a pre-contract with any side with his current deal in the final few months.
Chelsea have been linked to the playmaker as they want to refresh their options in the attack. The current crop has hardly been able to score without difficulty. However, it has been said that the Blues need to offer more money in terms of wages for the player. Their offer is claimed to be lower than what AC Milan have offered.
Contract talks between the player and club have stalled with wage demands being the issue. The Blues are hoping to take advantage of the same but will face competition from the likes of Arsenal, who are also keen on the midfielder. Calhanoglu is currently waiting for someone to match his wage demands and whoever can offer a lucrative package could end up going ahead in the race.
