Team News: Thomas Tuchel hints that Kepa might play against Brighton
According to team news from Football.london, Thomas Tuchel has hinted that Kepa could retain his place as Chelsea play Brighton. The Spanish shot-stopper was a solid presence in the last game against Man City and Tuchel is likely to let him remain in his place.
The Blues are all set to take on Brighton in the Premier League after capping off a solid week in the Champions League and the FA Cup. However, as attention remains off the pitch on the European Super League, Chelsea and Tuchel cannot let that distract them.
They are in red hot form and have a great chance to push into third place with a win over Brighton. With just seven games to go, Chelsea have a realistic shot at sealing top-four and earning Champions League qualification, keeping talks of the ESL aside.
Nonetheless, Tuchel has given a bit of a hint that Kepa Arrizabalaga will retain his place against Brighton. The Spaniard has essentially become the second choice at the club and has featured in a handful of games this season.
“I think everybody, including the two other goalkeepers, were wishing for a top performance and a clean sheet from him (Kepa). I’m very happy for him that he delivered and it is very likely that he has another match against Brighton maybe.”

This does come as good news for Kepa, who has had to warm the benches for most of the season as Edouard Mendy has made a good start to life at the club. With another chance to impress, Kepa cannot afford any slip-ups as he continues to prove that he deserves the starting role.
