According to Evening Standard, Chelsea have received a triple injury boost ahead of their first leg against Porto in what is a positive bit of team news for Tuchel. Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante and Tammy Abraham have all been cleared to be a part of the squad to face Porto.
Christian Pulisic was taken off at half-time during the West Brom game believed to be due to a hamstring injury. Kante was injured during the international break and did not play a part in the West Brom game.
The French midfielder played the full 90 minutes against Ukraine in the World Cup qualifier. But it was revealed after the match that he had suffered a hamstring tear during the course of their 1-1 draw. Abraham has a persisting issue in his ankle that has been there ever since Thomas Tuchel took over the club.
The latter duo did not take part in the last game while Pulisic only managed 45 minutes. However, with Porto to play on Wednesday, Thomas Tuchel had some good news regarding all three players.
“They are fit enough to be in the squad and will be in the squad. Good news. Christian went out before the accident could happen. He said there could be an injury so we took him off. Tammy Abraham is in the squad. Kante feels comfortable enough to be on the bench.”
It does bode well for the club that all three players are fit for the game. Kante in particular was a huge miss against West Brom and even though he might just make the bench, it is a good sign. With nearly a full-strength squad to choose from, Tuchel will have quite some options up his sleeve.
