According to news from Football.london, Real Madrid have received a huge injury boost ahead of their semi-final against Chelsea. The Blues are set to take on the Los Blancos in the Champions League in 11 days.
Chelsea overcame a stubborn Porto side, winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate. Real Madrid also had to sweat against Liverpool but much like Chelsea, their first-leg win was enough to push them through to the last four. The semi-final legs scheduled to take place on 27th April and 5th May.
One of the more admirable facts about Real’s win was that they did it with a host of injuries, several key players were missing over the two legs as they somehow managed to stun Liverpool in the first leg and finished the job then and there.
Among the notable absentees were first-choice centre-backs, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. Both were down due to COVID and Ramos was also injured. Eden Hazard continued his recovery from his injury struggles. Lastly, there was Dani Carvajal who was also out.
However, in some good news for them, all four are set to return soon and could feature in the Chelsea game. It will be a huge boost for Real, who had to play with a makeshift backline in both legs.
It will no doubt be a much sterner test for Chelsea now with the likes of Ramos, Varane, Carvajal and Hazard returning. All of them are world-class players and Chelsea will have to go past them if they are to reach the coveted spot in the final.
