Transfer News: Chelsea are favourites to sign Romelu Lukaku

According to transfer news from The Sun, Chelsea have been labelled as favourites to secure the signing of Romelu Lukaku. Exit links have emerged for Lukaku after another prolific season for Inter Milan, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City interested.

Lukaku has been in sensational form for Inter Milan since joining them in 2019. He is leading their title charge this season with his goals. The Belgian has formed a deadly partnership with fellow striker Lautaro Martinez.

However, Inter are in a financial mess and that could lead to them having to sell one of their more sellable assets. The Belgian striker is no stranger to Chelsea given he spent three years at the club.

He spent the second and third year out on loan before leaving for Everton. Lukaku then moved to Manchester United and despite decent numbers, he was let go to Inter, where he has resurrected his career.

Chelsea will very likely go after another striker next summer given how they have struggled for goals.

Our forwards are scoring goals at a scanty rate. Bringing Lukaku back may not be a bad option given the Premier League experience he has.
