Chelsea star Mason Mount not getting complacent, insists Tuchel
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has claimed that star man Mason Mount isn’t getting carried away after his recent exploits.
Mount has been Chelsea’s best player this season. The England international has had his fair share of critics in the past while former manager Frank Lampard had been accused of showing favouritism towards the academy man.
But, Mount has silenced all the detractors with some stunning displays week after week for Chelsea, even after the departure of Lampard. Since Thomas Tuchel took over the reins in January, the 22-year-old has scored five goals for Chelsea in all competitions.
Earlier this week, Mount found the back of the net for the first time ever in the UEFA Champions League against FC Porto. In all, the 22-year-old now has eight goals and six assists across all competitions this term.
Tuchel, ahead of the Crystal Palace contest, was asked whether Mount is capable of handling the praise that was coming his way. And the German insisted that the midfielder is down to earth and very much focused to the task at hand.
“I have the feeling he is very down to earth and he can handle it a lot. It does not change him at all if he is doing good games or bad games or mediocre games, or if he’s praised or not praised.
“He is very focused and not a moody guy. He is very mature, but at the same time has a sparkle in his eyes which is a very good mix.”

Mount has hit back at his doubters and critics in some style. It is now important for the young midfielder to stay level-headed and build on his good work for the rest of the season.
