Chelsea players confused by Thomas Tuchel’s treatment of Tammy Abraham
According to news from Metro, Chelsea players have been left baffled by the treatment Tammy Abraham is getting from Thomas Tuchel. The Englishman recently returned from an injury that saw him miss out on an England call-up.
Abraham broke into the first-team last season under Frank Lampard and was a vital part of the side that finished fourth. With a transfer ban last season, Abraham made full use of the opportunities handed to him and went on to score 15 goals.
However, the England international has slipped down the order after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and Timo Werner. The likes of Werner, Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud have been preferred ahead of the academy graduate.
After being passed fit for the game, he was a surprise exclusion from the squad against West Brom. Chelsea were beaten 5-2 by the Baggies in what was Tuchel’s first defeat as Blues manager.
While Tuchel did provide an explanation on the exclusion, several players were confused with how Abraham is being treated by Tuchel.
