According to Football.london, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has spoken about how the pressure of the top-four race gets them out of bed early. The clash with Everton would give Chelsea the chance to cement their chances for a top-four place.
Thomas Tuchel took over a struggling Chelsea side back in January and turned around their fortunes. The Blues have won 7 of their last 10 games, staying unbeaten during that time.
However, the Everton game is a vital one, given both teams are in the quest for the top-four.
Speaking ahead of the Everton game, Thomas Tuchel said that the pressures of the top-four are making sure that he and his team are getting out of bed early.
“There is only one point difference between the teams. Everton had a very strong start to season, had a big win at Anfield [last month], and have kept the momentum going. They have a very strong squad, very physical, full of talent.
They have got strong strikers, a dangerous number ten in James (Rodriguez), strong experienced players, a super-strong manager at the sidelines.
Carlo knows how to keep momentum going, how to keep the flow going. It is good that these games are on and it is good that we have another big, big match. That drives us, gets us out of bed early.”
Tuchel added that another good performance will be needed if Chelsea are to topple Everton. This is indeed a test for Tuchel and his side because Everton are no pushovers. They stunned Liverpool last time and have the ability to defeat any team on their day.
