“A big turnaround”: Misfiring Chelsea star opens up on his indifferent form at the club

Kai Havertz speaks out on his form at Chelsea

According to the Mirror, Kai Havertz spoke about his struggles at Chelsea but refused to throw any excuses. The German international was a big-money signing from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer but has failed to live up to the expectations so far in England.

However, Havertz has come out straight and refused to give any excuses for his bad form. The German was down with COVID early in the season. Under Frank Lampard as well as Thomas Tuchel, he has struggled to find his best position, despite being tried out in various areas of the pitch. He has managed to score only 5 goals in 29 appearances.

Kai Havertz looked good in the No.9 role for Chelsea against Leeds

“Corona is now over, I feel good. I had a little injury in the past few weeks, but it’s now time to play good. I have to improve my game. It’s not been easy for me, but there are no excuses. I just have to keep on working and hopefully there will be a big turnaround soon, but I will give it my best.”

Havertz spoke about how he has had to stay away from his family after moving to England and adjusting to his new surroundings.

“For me it has been difficult to change everything. It’s hard for me, but I’m six months here and getting used to the place, to the country. I hope that I will see my family soon. It’s tough for me, I’ve always loved spending time with them.

“It has not been the right time to spend some time with them. But it’s not only me, there are thousands of other people in an even worse situation than me. It isn’t an excuse for me. I will give my best.”

The German wonderkid is yet to open his account under Thomas Tuchel as he gets familiarized with the false nine role he has been given in recent times. The huge problem has been Chelsea’s lack of goals under Tuchel. They have scored a measly 15 goals in 12 games.

More Chelsea News:

None of the forwards have flourished with goals coming down at a trickle from various players. However, with each passing game, Havertz is looking more and more influential. It remains to be seen as to how Havertz fares in the remainder of the season.
