Chelsea and Manchester United played out a drab draw with both sides looking unwilling to push for a win.

Chances were at a premium as both sides failed to create clear cut chances. Chelsea’s best chance came to Hakim Ziyech. Ben Chilwell’s marauding run and cut-back went straight to Ziyech in the box who unleashed a strong effort on goal.

However, he shot it very centrally and even though De Gea was diving to the other side, he managed to get a strong right palm to it. Then Reece James shot was also blocked by Luke Shaw.

Hasselbaink criticised the Moroccan winger for fluffing that vital chance.

“Ziyech needs to score. It’s on his left foot, he sees all of the goal and he needs to score. I think Chelsea tried to win the match. They tried not to concede but they did try to win.”

Ziyech could be ruing the miss given he has had limited game time under Thomas Tuchel. This was only his second start since the Wolves game which was Tuchel’s first match in charge. While the whole team underwhelmed against Manchester United, Ziyech hardly did much to stand out.
