According to Metro, Declan Rice has come out in support of Chelsea ace Mason Mount after his heroics against Liverpool. Mount’s goal proved to be the match-winner in a vital game in the top-four race. Chelsea’s win was their fifth in the league under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Mason Mount has kept up his impressive form through the season even after Frank Lampard’s sacking. It was yet another display of real quality from the academy graduate who has quickly become one of the Blues’ most reliable players.
West Ham’s Declan Rice, who is a close friend of Mount and spent time with him at the Chelsea academy, sent out a tweet praising his mate.
Mason Mount also spoke about his performance. The youngster said that Chelsea are in a very tight situation with the top-four race now and they want to keep moving ahead. He felt that they were on a good run but weren’t scoring enough.
“I just try to give my best performance-wise if I am starting or coming off the bench. I feel like everyone has been really together. I am obviously happy, I am happy to get a goal today. I want to score more.”
It bodes well that Mount has continued to produce these amazing match-winning displays. He has now scored two very important goals, the first coming in the draw against Southampton.
Mount’s goal was the only difference between Chelsea and Liverpool as Tuchel came out trumps over his compatriot Jurgen Klopp.
