Chelsea News: Kai Havertz positive things will be getter after tough start

In the latest news, Chelsea star Kai Havertz has admitted that it has been a difficult start for him in England but is positive that things will get better. (h/t ESPN)

Havertz arrived at Chelsea from German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen. The 21-year-old cost the Blues a fortune in transfer fees but has failed to meet the expectations that came along with it.

Things did not begin well for the German international as he tested positive for coronavirus and had to spend time out on the sidelines early in his spell. His problems have not been helped by the uncertainty in his position either with both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel failing to work out where best to use him.

“It’s been a tough season. I know that things haven’t been going smoothly. But I think that’s normal when you first go abroad. It takes half a year or longer to adjust.”

Things have looked better for him of late, when he has been deployed in a false-nine role. And despite the fact that he has had his problems, a return of five goals and seven assists from 32 appearances shows the quality he can bring once he is at his best.

“I think that things are going well right now so I don’t want to overthink those negative impressions from the past. I am positive and hope that the next weeks will be every bit as good.”

Despite his problems, there is no denying the quality and the potential that Havertz possesses. Once he gets going, only the sky will be the limit. Hopefully, we get to see the best of him in the business end of the campaign as the race for the top four heats up.
