Fikayo Tomori draws massive praise from AC Milan legends

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori has become the toast of AC Milan as his employers are lavishing praises on him. The Serie A giants have been impressed with his performances since arriving on loan in January and think that they have found the next defending sensation after the likes of Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta.

Despite impressing with a good start to his Chelsea career, his form fizzled out soon last season. Tomori found game time hard to come by towards the end of Frank Lampard’s reign. With the arrival of Thiago Silva, Tomori was sidelined as Kurt Zouma was preferred ahead of the English starlet.

AC Milan came for his services in January and took him on loan until the end of this season. However, they hold a buying clause, which they can choose to exercise at the end of the season. Milan director Paolo Maldini spoke about Tomori’s abilities.

‘Fikayo is a player with interesting qualities. He is quick, hard-working and was someone we were following closely with January in mind. The deal contains an option to sign him from Chelsea. I’m lucky to work in a club where if a player knows we want them, it makes an impact.’

Former Milan coach Fabio Capello has also become an admirer of the youngster, citing that the club are lucky to have him in their ranks. New manager Thomas Tuchel has mostly used the likes of Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta at centre-back.

It looks very likely that Tomori has no future at Chelsea if he returns from Milan. With his impressive showings for Milan and the general opinion of the club officials, they are very likely to make his stay a permanent one.
