Thomas Tuchel gives latest Chelsea team news ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Chelsea ace Thiago Silva says Liverpool star Roberto Firmino is the toughest to face

According to Team Talk (h/t Liverpool Echo), Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has labelled his compatriot Roberto Firmino as one of the toughest opponents he has faced. Given the plethora of star forwards he has faced it is indeed praise for Firmino that he is held up to that standard by Silva.

The 36-year-old joined Chelsea this summer and despite his age, has seamlessly adapted to the fast-paced nature of the Premier League. He has already played more than 20 games this season. However, he did miss a few with injuries as Andreas Christensen took over in the interim.

Silva is a decorated player who has won multiple trophies at PSG and AC Milan. He has faced numerous forwards during that time and quite some star names like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. However, he felt that Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is the toughest he has faced so far.

“Firmino, he has incredible technical quality. He is very intelligent in his movements [on the pitch] that leaves defenders a bit lost.”
